Emerald Sims is a multidisciplinary movement artist and dance educator born in Philadelphia. Emerald began her dance journey at the age of four years old, and since then she has committed herself to expanding her knowledge of the art. She took a comprehensive approach to building her foundation in dance. She graduated with a bachelor’s in psychology with a concentration in sports psychology and neuroscience and a minor in dance at Wilkes University. During her time as a student, Emerald focused on consistently diversifying her technical training in various styles with mentors from other major cities like NYC and LA. She uses her years of dance education to continue to cultivate her own unique style. Emerald primarily draws from on hip-hop and house style movements, with heavy influences from clowning. In her career as an educator and member of the dance community, she dedicates herself to spreading the love of movement to her students and fellow artists alike. Emerald is continuing to expand herself as a dancer and performer across the East Coast, keeping the culture and history of street dance at the forefront of all she does.
