Hip Hop Dance Classes for Kids Ages 3-17!
Established in 2015, MoveMakers presents dance education in an innovative way, prioritizing development of character and community at its core. MoveMakers is invested in growing capable and resourceful individuals via a practice that focuses on discipline, respect, compassion, good listening, creativity, team spirit, leadership and personal accountability. The school also emphasizes cultural appreciation and understanding through its celebration and study of Black American resourcefulness, ingenuity and creativity. For certain, our students hold it down on the dance floor, demonstrating virtuosic command of the dance form. More importantly, they are leaders in their community.

MoveMakers Philly’s Style Bender Academy is for serious youth street dancers that want intense training and other high level dancers that want to deepen their street dance knowledge. The camp focuses on supporting kids with killing it in ciphers, battles, performing choreography and choreographing. Students have the ability to select specialization tracks while receiving broad exposure to other categories. Personalized coaching is a central theme to this camp. Stye Bender Academy offers a fun and friendly environment that pushes young people to unlock their full potential.

Say Yes Philly!
Say Yes Philly's mission is to provide equitable access to performing and multi-media arts education for Pre-K-12th grade students and capacity building resources for emerging artists in Philadelphia, emphasizing multiculturalism and breaking down social barriers.
This Spring will officially be our last fundraising season with Archedream for Humankind (ADHK) as our fiscal sponsor. We intended to launch this Spring with Say Yes' systems for processing donations in place, but we've run into some hold ups in the bureaucratic process. We have an EIN and all the necessary paperwork completed, so the IRS knows where to find Say Yes Philly. Unfortunately, we were not able to get all of our bureaucratic ducks in a row for this launch. Although it would be ideal to have donors directly making tax deductible donations to Say Yes, making our launch feel more complete, we do not want to delay our schedule for providing summer camp scholarships. Each week we wait, the fewer scholarships we can provide. ADHK is set up and ready to continue to support our efforts. Patty and everyone at ADHK have been tremendous supporters in getting us off the ground, much like you. Let's join to make this launch of Say Yes Philly also a big thank you to our lovely supporters, ADHK.

Join teacher Kayliani Sood in our Minimovers program! With classes grounded in early childhood education, this class is designed to get kids ages 3-5 moving and grooving. Mini-movers learn how to express themselves through the foundations of Hip Hop and Breaking in a playful, fun, and imaginative dance class. As a part of our MoveMakers community, your dancer will grow not just with their classmates, but in collaboration with experienced students. With structured community events, your dancer will have the opportunity to learn from their peers as well as their teachers, giving them the skills they need to become lifelong learners.

UMA’s line up of classes are primarily based in contemporary Black American folkloric dance, African folkloric dance, Latin American dance and contemporary somatic and movement culture practices. Some of you might be wondering what Black American folkloric dance is. Anything from Lindy Hop to Hip Hop to Breakdance are American folklore and were born in U.S.’s Black communities. UMA is a proud ambassador of many dance forms that fall into the category of Black American Folklore.
UMA invites you to explore the many benefits that come from a dance practice with us. We are a space where you can de-stress, make friends and grow- all the while, celebrating and commemorating the communities and cultures that have laid the foundations for the mediums that we express ourselves within.
