Philadelphia Parkour Classes for Kids
Parkour Classes at MoveMakers Philly are great for fun and developing useful physical and life skills. Parkour helps kids to develop coordination and agility. Similar to climbing, it supports kids with developing problem solving skills. Kids that practice Parkour certainly develop better spatial and environmental awareness. Our students show strong qualities of humbleness, discipline, courage and confidence. And they certainly have a blast climbing, leaping and rolling around while making new friends.
Here's What Coach Liam has to say about Parkour:
Parkour started in the late 1980’s. It was founded by the son of French military man and his eight friends in the suburbs of Paris. Since then it has exploded in popularity and changed a lot. I found Parkour in 2012 and discovered my passion for teaching in 2016.
Coach Liam's Teaching Philosophy:
My Philosophy with teaching is to approach movement in a way that makes it digestible, less intimidating, and fun. Rather than aiming to create top-level athletes, I want to create an environment that makes people feel safe and comfortable learning these movements casually without pressure
The Benefits of Parkour for Kids:
Increased confidence, coordination, strength, and balance. We want our students to take away a newfound confidence in themselves and their capability. We want them to be able to use the problem-solving skills they learn in this class to be able to cultivate new skills.
What to expect beyond learning amazing skills
Coach Liam prioritizes technique, which allows students to actually learn empowering skills that expand their capacity for self expression. Along with teaching the real deal, the kids are guaranteed to have a blast. Coach Liam incorporates games and obstacle courses. A good deal of his activities are inspired by Ninja Warrior and Chase Tag. There are sometimes even nerf games.
At 812 Chestnut, we are supporting Philly kids to find their power through Parkour!
