​Movemakers Philly is a hip hop school for kids located at 2100 Chestnut Street. We offer in-depth instruction in Hip Hop styles and Break Dance. Our classes combine the discipline and technical rigor of martial arts and ballet, while providing pathways for fun self-expression and physicality like any good sport.  Movemakers Philly has pioneered a unique pedagogy that bridges cultural enrichment with physical and mental conditioning. Students learn the evolution of this vast tradition, ranging from the 60s to present day. Through our system, students achieve remarkable self-awareness and control over their bodies, which certainly transfers into other life endeavors. Moreover, each student enhances their joy for movement and music, along with their overall appreciate for collaborating with others.  It brings us great pride that the Movemakers Philly team is profoundly growing cultural literacy, physical vitality, confidence, discipline, leadership and community engagement over a diverse population of Philadelphia’s youth.
